Evaluation criteria

The CID 54 commission co-evaluates the activity of the researchers that it recruits, with the main section assigned at the time of recruitment. It may also be asked to co-evaluate any person whose research activity would fall within the themes covered by its title and its keywords.

Criteria for evaluating competition applications

The scientific file of an application for a recruitment open to the CID 54 commission must meet the specificities of this commission and fall within the themes covered by its title and its keywords. Recruitment to a junior (CRCN) or senior (DR2) position is based on the scientific quality of the file. In addition, in CID 54 commission, the application must demonstrate an interdisciplinary approach that combines computing and data with other scientific fields, such as high-energy physics, climate science, seismology, astronomy, cosmology, materials science, chemistry and physics. This list is not exhaustive, but we emphasize that CID 54 commission does not cover all interdisciplinary activities related to the digital sciences. In particular, the interactions between data science and life sciences, or data science and the humanities and social sciences, as well as research questions related to the development of digital science and technology are outside the scope of this commission.

The quality of scientific production in an interdisciplinary setting is evaluated according to specific criteria, which do not fall under a single discipline. Thus, the evaluation will take into account the researchers' discipline of origin as well as the range of disciplines addressed in their application.

Main criteria common to junior and senior positions:

For a field that typically combines science and data, the interdisciplinarity achieved must stand out from the usual practices in the field.

Main criteria specific to senior positions:

Additional elements may also be considered, such as: - involvement in an open science approach; - animation, scientific mediation, and teaching activity related to the research activity.

These criteria are non-exclusive, non-hierarchical, and non-cumulative; they are modulated according to research career, discipline, and research activity setting.
