The Exoplanet Simulator Project -- Click here to try the online version!
Using
the LMD Generic Global Climate Model, I have developed a new
tool which provides an accelerated/interactive/easy-to-use simulation of the climate of Earth-like planets.
The model provides an "hands on" experience by showing how
the surface and atmospheric temperature as well as
the profile of water vapor evolves through time when
the external forcing (insolation, star spectrum, ...) or the
planet (quantity of CO2, initial amount of water
reservoir, surface pressure ...) is modified.
Interested in using the tool ?
- An online interactive version of the tool is now available on LAPS website.
- You can also download the latest offline version of the tool here.
The code is mainly written in Fortran language but was wrapped in Python 2.7.
To use the tool, you will need the GFORTRAN compiler and
the the WX-Python library.
NEWS:
The LAPS model is now referenced on exoplanet.eu and EMACS websites.
