SimClimat has been adjusted to realistically represent the present
climate and last glacial maximum, and to provide climate projections
similar to those of climate models participating in CMIP (section
2.1). Consequently, for emissions
that allow SimClimat to simulate concentration evolutions
similar to those of the IPCC, projections in terms of temperature
and sea level rise are similar (figure 16).
Figure 16:
Comparison of projections produced by SimClimat and by models participating
in CMIP. The left column presents the results shown in the 5th IPCC
report ([IPCC, 2013]). The right column shows screenshots of
SimClimat. The curves show the evolution of the concentration
according to optimistic and pessimistic scenarios (above), the global
temperature of the Earth (in the middle) and the sea level (at the
bottom). For SimClimat, the optimistic and pessimistic scenarios were
run with 1 GtC/year and 22 GtC/year anthropogenic emissions.
